Health Benefits of Lemon Water

The first post of our New Year, Healthy You series: Lemon Water!

We’re all hip to ordering lemon water at restaurants as a fancier alternative to the cheapest beverage option (plain water), but did you know that lemon water offers a plethora of benefits for your overall health?  Now you do! Check out the list below and share the wealth with your friends and lunch dates.

1. Aids Digestion 

Lemon juice is known to release toxins and relieve symptoms of indigestion.  This benefit is even more effective if you drink lemon water first thing in the morning!

2. Boosts Your Immune System

Lemons contain Vitamin C and potassium, both of which can provide a little immune boost and may even reduce stress.

3. Cleans Your Skin

Vitamin C is also necessary for collagen production.
More collagen = healthier and smoother skin [without the big needles].
The antioxidants in lemons also help to decrease blemishes and reduce the signs of wrinkles.

4. Hold the Caffeine!

Lemon water is proven to reduce anxiety and calm your nervous system, all while boosting your energy.  Lemon water is a great way to feel refreshed and energized, without the afternoon jitters.
