Urban culture editorial, Hypebeast, releases uncut footage from their 2013 interview with Kanye West.  As the video description details, this interview occurred before The Life of Pablo and even before the birth of Nori and Saint.

This is 22 minutes purely focused on Mr. West the musician, including his inspirations and love for art in the Midwest, leaving out the cheesy tabloid headlines and Kardashian drama.  Thank you!

Within the interview, Kanye details his creative experiences with J Dilla and his admiration for Motown and Stax Records – two recording labels prominent in the blues era and arguably absolutely necessary for the musical progression of present day.  And, of course, it wouldn’t be ‘Ye without some Midwest love and inspirational indifference.

I’m lucky because I’m from Chicago. And since I’m from Chicago, I don’t give a fuck.

Kanye also details the process for creating No More Parties in LA from his latest album, The Life of Pablo… in 2013… Makes you wonder what else is held up in that Macbook?
