We all remember Keke Palmer as Akeelah in the popular film Akeelah & The Bee, but young Keke has grown into so much more: actress, musician, Snapchat phenom (@keekthasneak) and stylish inspirationalista (not a word, roll with it).
I’m not embarrassed to admit my guilty pleasure of watching Keke’s snaps where she sings to songs on the radio, hits the studio to record or keeps it real with inspiring and truthful messages about self-love and determination. I guess the partying with Justin Combs doesn’t hurt… 😻
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of anyone who gracefully embraces their own style and personality. And it’s no doubt that Keke has successfully done so. Here’s one of Keke’s most recent looks that just so happens to be one of my favorites.
Hypebeasts have already saturated the brand exclusivity of Supreme and Thrasher, and Daniel (from Damn Daniel) has pushed teenagers everywhere to their closest Journey or Vans store for Sk8 Hi’s. Nevertheless, I thought Keke’s photoshoot with photographer Sheridan was an awesome reflection of her personal style and versatility. We’re used to the red carpet Keke with dresses and heels, but Keke’s personality shines brighter in this look that I like to call flirty tomboy. Trendy street wear from head to toe, but with bold box braids and flawless makeup that perfectly completes the balance.
